Purpose of the Role

The primary objective of this role is to ensure accurate receiving, verification, and distribution of stock. The supervisor ensures that all stock-related processes are completed efficiently, safely, and according to company standards.

Stock Receiving and Processing

  • Receive stock from suppliers and verify against invoices and purchase orders
  • Ensure all stock is physically checked and accurately recorded
  • Capture goods receiving data into the system within required timeframes
  • Ensure discrepancies are corrected and properly documented

Inter-Branch Transfers (IBT)

  • Process all inter-branch transfers accurately and on time
  • Ensure no discrepancies in transferred stock
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of all IBT transactions

Stock Distribution

  • Ensure all received stock is moved to the sales floor promptly
  • Coordinate with store teams for efficient merchandising
  • Maintain organized stock flow within the receiving area

Stock Labelling and Pricing

  • Ensure all stock is labelled correctly with SKU numbers
  • Verify accuracy of printed SKUs and correct any errors
  • Implement pricing changes according to company policy

Supplier Claims and Corrections

  • Process supplier claims with proper supporting documentation
  • Ensure claims are authorized by the Store Manager
  • Handle corrections with accuracy and accountability

Security and Risk Management

  • Ensure receiving areas are secure at all times
  • Prevent unauthorized access to stock and documentation
  • Monitor supplier activities and prevent loitering

Store Readiness and Housekeeping

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving area
  • Ensure damaged or excess stock is handled appropriately
  • Follow all “Ready for Business” processes

Customer and Supplier Service

  • Assist suppliers with queries professionally
  • Provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain professional appearance and adherence to dress code

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards
  • Monitor safe handling of stock and equipment
  • Report any safety concerns immediately
